Distributive video services (DVSs) are potential new service types available on the broadband ISDN (B-ISDN). DVS concepts are introduced, together with the network and signaling requirements for their support. A network architecture and signaling realization option is proposed to provide DVS, including estimated performance parameters. Performance parameters studied include the total call delay time, the call processing delay time, the processor capacity, and the memory access requirements. The results show that the proposed DVS method is feasible with existing technology, although the processing required is much higher than for the existing local exchanges
