Describes a method of toner motion analysis in a developed process for an electrophotographic system, which is based on a finite-element method (FEM) and an equation of motion considering the Coulomb force, adhesive force, and toner interference check. The purpose of this analysis is the evaluation of the resolution and quality of the toner image on a photoreceptor to design the developed process. This method is applied to a DC jumping developed process for a laser printer. Numerical results obtained by the analysis with high and low charged toner are compared with measured results
