On the modeling and analysis of computer networks

Analytic models for computer network performance evaluation are surveyed. The basics of network analysis are presented, the network design procedure is discussed, and some of the fundamentals of network control are introduced. Some of the issues surrounding the design and behavior of gigabit networks are discussed.<
