The French experience in integrating the program FLUX2D in the undergraduate curriculum at the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble

The authors present their academic experience of teaching the application of finite element methods to electrical machines. This experience began many years ago when the Laboratoire d'Electrotechnique de Grenoble started a research program that led to the development of FLUX2D, a 2D finite element software package now commercially available. The teaching of theoretical and practical finite element methods with the use of FLUX2D is discussed.<
