A load-flow model is presented which is at least 50% faster than the traditional fast decoupled load flow model as described by B. Stott and O. Alsac (1974). Reasons for the speedup are considered, and details of the model's performance are given. The performance of the model is investigated by examining a number of power systems, the largest of which is a 1435-bus system
