The authors describe a survey of all the deans of engineering of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology)-accredited programs throughout the United States in order to find answers to five key questions: How many schools with ABET-accredited programs offer engineering courses for credit to undergraduate students via television? What is the ratio of courses broadcast live to those delivered by videotape? Are tutors used with videotaped courses? How is exam security and program integrity maintained? What are future trends for televised undergraduate engineering programs? The survey has shown that at least 39 schools with ABET-accredited programs currently use television to deliver engineering courses to undergraduate students for credit. This fact is an encouraging sign that televised learning does not endanger program accreditation and that ABET visitation teams recognize this
