A loss model based on a dynamic generalization of the Preisach hysteresis model, in which the standard Preisach algorithm is coupled to an equation for the rate of change of the flux associated with each elementary Preisach loop, is presented. The model is able to predict loss features not explained by previous treatments and provides a general interpretative frame for the study of the connection between power losses and microstructure of soft magnetic materials
