The commenters maintain the correctness of the 2-D noise matrix formulas presented in a previous work (ibid., vol.CAS-33, p.965-73, Oct. 1986) citing the first above-named work by T. Hinamoto et al. (ibid., vol.35, p.609-10, May 1988) against the objects raised by T. Lin and M. Kawamata in the second above named work (ibid., vol.35, p.610-11, May 1988). The commenters argue that Lin and Kawamata used formulas that apply to different noise models.<>
