A computational theory of a particular decision task is extended to a neurocomputational theory of other decision making data involving influence of emotion on choices. The theory, involving opponent processing between two different neurotransmitter systems, includes both short-term responses to changes in affectively significant stimuli and long-term responses to ongoing affectively significant stimuli.
