A transimpedance amplifier fabricated in a 0.13 mum CMOS process that operates at bit rates up to 25 Gbit/s with a power consumption of 0.36 mW/Gbit/s is reported. The amplifier provides 42 dBOmega of transimpedance gain over a 15 GHz bandwidth and exhibits a bit-error-ratio of less than 10-12 for peak-to-peak input currents of 225 and 425 muA at 20 and 25 Gbit/s, respectively
