A multiposition switch utilizing crystal rectifiers is used in electronic digital computers requiring switch times of less than 1 microsecond and in other applications requiring extreme compactness. Several varieties of this switch are analyzed, and generalized equivalent circuits are derived. Applications and practical limitations are discussed for both low-speed and high-speed operation.
