The present paper establishes the equivalent circuit of a plane discontinuity in a coaxial line as a simple shunt capacitance. This capacitance is calculated for concentric changes of cross-section and concentric disks. In order to utilize the results of the analogous discontinuities in parallel-plate guides, "equivalent radii" are asymptotically calculated; and the results are sufficiently accurate for most practical applications.
