A method is described for stabilizing the frequency of a relaxation oscillator to any required degree. The stabilized oscillator may be synchronized with a high-order submultiple of a control frequency without any possibility of synchronization at any other submultiple, even if the operating conditions vary widely; the maintenance of synchronization can also be made substantially independent of operating conditions.
