Variants of conventional transmission line based transversal and traveling wave FIR structures are proposed and their performance is compared with respect to nonidealities in the transmission lines. New topologies for FIR filters, called bi-transversal structures, are presented. Shunt compensation is shown to be a useful technique for improving the performance of all families of transmission line based filters
