To provide visual communication over enterprise leased line, the remote video surveillance system should be a suitable architecture to take the place of analog video model. The paper gives a reference design of remote digital video monitor system based on embedded system and dual core processors which can apply to IP-based video system. It has the merits of low cost and high quality for digital video communication, and it is suitable for complicated video processing and control logic. The performance results show that the dual core processors architecture can enhance reliability and agility of the system
