Composite radiating or receiving systems for ultra-high frequencies may be built with electromagnetic horns as elements that are so positioned and interconnected as to produce the desired characteristics. Several different arrangements are discussed theoretically and experiments made at a wavelength of 8.3 centimeters are described.
