An advanced algorithm to improve the performance of the small track jumps in the optical disc driver is suggested. By fitting the track error signal to a sinusoidal function, the relative position of the optical pickup on the disc is estimated. This estimation make it possible to control the track cross velocity to be constant. The experimental results are shown.
