In the following paper we analyze the performance of turbo codes, specified in IEEE 802.16 standard for broadband wireless access decoded by sub-optimal Chase Pyndiah algorithm. We have found out that the extended Hamming codes are 2.5 to 3dB from Shannon bound, while the performance of parity check codes are a little worse, i.e. 5dB from Shannon bound
