A Hybrid Fractal Image Coding Method Based on a Nonlinear Model

In order to speedup Fractal Block Coding, a rapid matching strategy based on matching in Range Block's Neighborhood is suggested in this paper. In order to guarantee the quality of decoding image, it is suggested that Non-matching block should be coded by Block Truncation Coding. In this paper, smooth block is coded by Average Coding. This coding method adopts three-level quad-tree coding scheme. Because of these strategies, the compression performance of this method is excellent.
