The author examines an integrated services system at a time-division multiplexing (TDM) node where packets of two priorities, the HP (high priority) and the LP (low priority), are served. The arrivals of LP packets are assumed to be Poisson, while the HP arrivals have a frame-to-frame dependency that characterizes many real-time systems. The system is modeled as a discrete-time system with a fluctuating number of servers for the LP packets. The analysis yields a closed-form expression for a probability generating function (PGF) of the LP waiting time distribution
