This paper proposes a seamless QoS adaptation control (SQAC) for embedded multimedia communications. The fundamental control procedure of SQAC accounts for the limited computational capability and memory of the embedded system, and the MPEG-4 object priority. SQAC supports adaptation control and offers seamless steady multimedia streaming based on monitoring mobile network traffic and the computing resources of the client, including the status of the CPU and the memory. When the available resources are not enough, the client releases some unnecessary system processes to obtain more available memory and CPU computing resources for application. A priority-based differentiated presentation control mechanism is proposed to balance the workload of the embedded system based on medium object priority
