An analysis is presented for a room temperature dual-mode oscillator (patent pending) utilising a single sapphire resonator in which two orthogonally polarised whispering gallery modes are excited. The temperature dependence of the 3.39 GHz beat frequency was aned near 304 K. An Allan deviation of 8×10-12 was measured at 1s.
