This paper proposes a space-time coding architecture for single-carrier block spread CDMA systems. The proposed scheme employs a novel block spreading and despreading operation, which lead to significant reduction in the receiver complexity. The performance of the system is enhanced through space-time coding transmission. Extensive simulation studies are carried out and the performance of the proposed system is compared against conventional CDMA systems
