The need for detection of turn fault at primary stages, such that maintenance can be planned ahead, has pushed the development of monitoring method with increasing sensitivity and noise immunity. An important issue in such effort is the modeling of induction motor under turn fault conditions with minimum computation and complexity and maximum accuracy. Magnetic equivalent circuit is employed in the simulation and analysis of squirrel cage induction motor with turn to turn fault and unbalance magnetic pull that is arisen from this fault. Simulation and experimental results are presented to support the proposed approach.
