This paper proposes a method for the behavioral modeling of 1/f1 noise sources, dedicated to time domain simulations. This method is theoretically based on fractional differentiation. The behavioral models are implemented in VHDL-AMS. As an illustration, examples of basic noise voltage sources (white and 1/f noise) are given and analyzed. The concept is then re-used to simulate noise effects on a sigma-delta modulator.
