An adaptive power control algorithm, which can change the diversity transmission mode of its active sectors, is proposed in this paper. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than site selective diversity transmit (SSDT), multi-SSDT (Takano N and Hamabe K, 2001), and conventional power control. Our study also shows that the proposed algorithm is reliable and not sensitive to mobile speed or propagation environment.
