A square root domain differentiator is proposed based roughly on the concept of gyrators in linear filters. The differentiator is evaluated independently and a method for its inclusion in larger filters is proposed. The differentiator is used to design a third-order lowpass elliptic filter as an example of filters with finite zeros.
