The activities of the applied bioengineering program in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, are described. The program's activities are discussed in terms of applied mechanics research and technological developments. Three areas of research are examined: (1) reduction of the vibrational and noise level in incubators for newborns; (2) analysis of the variation of frequency coefficients of a simplified bone-fracture model as a function of the healing process; and (3) dynamic analysis of a plate element used in a heart prostheses subjected to force excitation.<>
