Summary form only given, as follows. Neural network models are reviewed from the point of view of parallel distributed processing models. More specifically, the interactions between neural models and the computational model implemented by transputer-based machines are identified so as to define a general strategy for mapping neural networks onto transputers, and therefore achieving the design and a prototype of a neural network mapper for transputer-based machines
