Novel temperature characteristics of gain behaviors in quantum-dot lasers

In quantum dots, the increment of temperature results in red shift of gain spectrum. Thermal state-filling and electron-phonon scattering lead to extremely large and even negative T/sub 0/. Theoretical prediction is confirmed experimentally.
