This paper attempts to analyze the reverse link capacity of a DS/CDMA cellular system by incorporating affecting factors such as power control error, shadowing fading, multipath fading, path propagation loss model and multi-service environment. Unlike existing studies, this paper assumes using Rake receivers to resolve and optimally combine multiple fading diversity channels. The signal envelopes of those channels follow either Rice distribution or Rayleigh distribution according to whether they contain a line of sight component or not, and their combined signal powers follow non-central chi-square or central chi-square distribution respectively. Also by observing the fact that there should be different path propagation loss models due to the differences in radio environments and the distances from mobiles to base stations, instead of a single path propagation loss model, a combining model of one-slope and two-slope path propagation loss models is adopted. Finally, the system capacity based on outage probability is given.
