We have derived an expression for the effective dc field associated with magnetic easy-plane anisotropy. The field is expressed as the geometric mean between the applied field and the sum of the applied field and the anisotropy field, in agreement with previous publications. This is in contrast to the effective dc field associated with a magnetic easy axis, which adds to the applied field arithmetically. The calculated transmission stopband compares nicely with experiments.
