Since Hachtel's augmented matrix method is commonly used in power systems, the authors' presented algorithm of determining observable islands for the gain matrix is extended to Hachtel's augmented matrix. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the details of the proposed algorithms. The simplicity and efficiency of the proposed algorithm make its on-line application possible for current power networks.
