Generally, the researches in the field of permanent magnet linear synchronous machine (PMLSM) have been mainly divided as the static analysis through the analytical method without the sufficient consideration of control adaptability after design or the dynamic analysis using the algorithm techniques-like, neural networks and fuzzy theory based on the simply given design parameters for a desired thrust-speed output performance. Therefore, the accurate approach and analysis about the dynamic performance of PMLSM related with the estimation error of base speed is not yet identified clearly. In this paper, we present the dynamic analysis of PMLSM with a self load through the drive experimentation using the base speed and the speed field orient control determined from the analytical method. And we analyze systematically the dynamic performances related with the estimation error of the base speed. Also, we considered the mechanical acceleration limits within the possible electric thrust boundary in commanding a reference speed profile.
