In this paper, we propose a novel and simple design of using a single-layer rectangular microstrip antenna for achieving a single-feed dual-band operation. The loading of chip capacitors can further extend the capacitive loads. The results show that the frequency ratio is within the range 1.25-1.73. Details of the proposed antenna design are described, and experimental results for the obtained performance are presented and discussed.
