A real-time electromagnetic transient simulator (EMTS) on PC cluster has been developed in China Electric Power Research Institute, to make use of the advantage of modern computer technology, improve the efficiency of real-time simulation of transient phenomena of electromagnetic as well as power electronic nature. In order to provide a friendly interface with user and a high efficient graphical and analytical environment for electro-magnetic transient simulation, graphical user interface (GUI) software for EMTS on PC cluster is developed. This paper focuses on the introduction of the design and structure of GUI software for EMTS. The design and technologies of other important modules for implementation GUI software for EMTS, such as communication, control and monitoring, are also briefly introduced.
