Many factors influence the design of an effective UHF-television transmitting plant. Site and antenna selection, and their optimization, are particularly critical, while the design of the plant itself has a significant influence on the overall reliability of the system. Several factors relating to the design of an effective transmitting plant are discussed and suggestions offered to minimize installation difficulties and improve operational characteristics.
