This paper deals with multimedia communications over WLAN. An experimental study is described with the main focus on optimisation of indoor radio propagation models and its application to broadband multimedia streaming performance. The results show that improved accuracy of existing indoor radio models is achieved through parameter optimisation based on experimental on-site measurements. A minimum threshold for the received power of the radio signal is found as a limit for achieving acceptable QoS.
