This work considers how to transmit a set of image and depth for depth-image-based rendering and how to reduce the bit-rate required for the depth transmission by incorporating the inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) with anisotropic diffusion and adjusting the DCT coefficients of an 8×8 DCT block.
