In recent years, much research in the field of data dissemination protocols to mobile sinks, for wireless sensor networks, has been published. Such protocols inspire us to design CODE, a coordination-based data dissemination protocol for wireless sensor networks. CODE considers energy efficiency and network lifetime, especially for sensor networks with high node density. CODE is based on a grid structure to establish an efficient data dissemination path between sources and mobiles sinks. Our simulation results show that CODE consumes less energy and has a longer network lifetime compared with other approaches.
