The paper presents a system on chip embedded bit-serial FPGA, targeting at multi-purpose applications. The proposed SoC used fingerprint authentication system as a typical application. The system inherits the compatibility of using AMBA architecture, the flexibility of using bit-serial FPGA, and provides designer with freedom of reconfigure the system for both hardware and software. The system mainly consists of a 32-bit RISC processor, bit-serial FPGA, on-chip memory and state-of-the-art IPs.
