World Wide Web (WWW) promises many advantages in the distribution and presentation of digital archives for religious scriptures. The existing XML application which provides a meta-data collection of literary classics could present rich information for readers. Due to its extensible self-defined structure, all of the religious multimedia contents issued so far are appropriate for publishable content online. However, retrieving some suitable data, consulting verses on demand and integrating them perfectly are difficult for human. Applying the methods of ontology to improve existing applications of information retrieval and digital archive is approached in the study, and the Holy Bible has being read every day by one-fourth humans in the world is exploited for an example.
