This work proposes a simulation and control environment for the distributed event dynamic systems. The proposed environment is developed based on the distributed agent-oriented Petri net (DAOPN). The DAOPN is a type of high-level Petri nets, and it defines the basic properties of the original Petri nets, such as the places, transitions and arcs. In order to meet the complex behaviors of the modern manufacturing environments, the DAOPN involves the modeling capabilities of the product model mixes, activity based costing, and time based performance measures. Especially, the proposed system is possible to model the discrete event systems in the distributed and agent-oriented manners. Finally, in addition to describing the DAOPN simulation and control software environment implementations, This work employs three simple examples to demonstrate the modeling of discrete event dynamic systems using the proposed system.
