A new system for nondestructive evaluation is proposed in this paper. The system performs boresonic analysis for flaw detection in the rotor turbine. In order to enhance the quality of the ultrasonic investigation, a new approach based on the synthetic aperture focusing technique (SAFT) has been applied. The paper provides a brief overview on the boresonic analysis, with emphasis on its use for the evaluation of the residual life or rotors. Moreover, the developed system is described and some preliminary results concerning the post-processing operations are reported.
