The paper describes admission control (AC) mechanisms used in 3G all-IP networks and their application to packet-switched streaming services (PSS). A new proposal to enhance AC for on-demand streaming services is made. The goal is to use session-related information, such as session duration and average bitrate, to perform AC decisions based on knowledge about future network state.
