The high level architecture (HLA) provides a software architecture for collaborative simulation, which is an important analyzing means used in complex product design. A collaborative simulation platform based on HLA is developed to fulfill the requirements of multidisciplinary modeling/simulation and performance evaluation in complex product design. The major constitutions of this platform - the HLA adapters, the console and the evaluator - are described in this paper, whose implementation and functions are discussed in detail. This work also introduces further refinements of this platform.
