This paper presents a new multimedia functional module and related interface for displaying images captured by a digital still camera, camcorder, or PC on a digital TV (DTV). The proposed module includes an interface circuit that can support five types of memory card and decode the JPEG, BMP, or TIFF image data saved in the memory card. The image data can also be converted to an analog RGB signal. Furthermore, by supporting three types of output image size, from a HD (high definition) to WXGA (wide extended graphics array) resolution, the proposed module can be applied to all kinds of digital TV.
