A new space division multiplexing scheme is proposed. With grouped quasi-amicable orthogonal designs (GQOD), the joint detection of the transmitted symbol vector is transferred to the detection of the separate symbols. Compared with V-BLAST architecture, the GQOD scheme can achieve dramatic performance improvement with fewer transmit antennas and lower computational complexity.
