A microstrip-line-fed printed slot antenna for operating in the 2.45/5.2 GHz bands is proposed and its successful implementation is described. In addition to its easy construction, the antenna prototype has a suitable impedance bandwidth for Bluetooth and WLAN operations in the 2.45 and 5.2 GHz bands. The E- and H-plane radiation patterns have been measured and are presented; they show slot-like and monopole-like patterns. It is seen that small antenna gain variation is obtained within the operating bands.
