A simple and effective scheme for improving the Quality of Service (QoS) performance of the enhanced distributed co-ordination function (EDCF) in the IEEE 802.11e wireless LANs is presented. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides a good service differentiation and outperforms the EDCF in terms of throughput and delay under a wide range of load.
